Last August, I gave a practical training course for volunteers at the municipal dog pound in Son Servera, with the support of Son Servera Town Council and the Local Police Councillor, Bernat Grimalt.
During the session, we worked on three fundamental aspects of daily dog management:
- Safety in interaction
- Effective communication
- Canine language and signs of stress
The aim was to provide useful tools so that volunteers can work with greater confidence, safety and knowledge in their day-to-day work at the kennel.
Participants and context
Mica, Ana, Teresa, Lisy, Victoria, Nicola, and Marga attended the training session., all active volunteers at the municipal kennel. Their work is extremely valuable, and the training sought to facilitate their work and resolve specific questions about the behaviour of the dogs they manage.
Awareness sessions
These types of sessions are important because they allow us to address real concerns, share experiences, and improve the way we interact with animals, especially in demanding environments such as kennels.
I would like to thank Son Servera Town Council for inviting me to take part in this collaboration, and the group of volunteers for their involvement and attitude during the session.
