What are socialisation walks for dogs?
Socialisation walks are a key tool for improving dogs’ communication, confidence and behaviour. They are designed to help them interact with other dogs and people in a safe, controlled and positive way.
Socialisation is a fundamental process in the life of any dog: it begins in the third week of life and lasts until 12-16 weeks, depending on the breed. When this stage is not managed correctly, fears, reactivity or difficulties in adapting may arise.
With socialisation walks, Dog & Roll offers dogs real-life experiences, supervised by a professional, which help them to better manage their environment and improve their emotional wellbeing.
How do these walks work?
They are organised into two different groups, depending on the dog’s level of socialisation:
1️⃣ Habituation group
- For dogs that do not tolerate the presence of others well or that show insecurity.
- There is no direct contact between dogs.
- We walk in a group, maintaining safe distances.
- Calmness and observation of the environment are reinforced without exceeding their thresholds.
2️⃣ Interaction group
- For dogs with good or acceptable social communication skills.
- Free contact, play and joint exploration are permitted.
- The aim is to enjoy oneself, socialise and strengthen healthy bonds between dogs and humans.
When do the walks take place?
- Group 1: Two Friday afternoons per month, in urban areas or near towns.
- Group 2: Two Sunday mornings a month, surrounded by nature: beaches, mountains or forests.
- Summer: During the hottest months, walks are suspended to avoid risks.
Requisitos para unirte al club
- Mandatory preliminary assessment.
- Healthy dogs, vaccinated and without serious mobility issues.
- Puppies in heat and unvaccinated puppies are not accepted.
Price and conditions
- 30€ per month per dog.
- Free for customers who already participate in Dog & Roll education or behaviour modification programmes.
